Fans of The Walking Dead know it's so much more than a zombie show. It's an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we'd go through to protect the people we care about. That's what's kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.) I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with my current co-host, the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City. Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more.

It’s the return of Pamela and Jason Voorhees! Get ready to… sympathize? This series is full of surprises, including a lot of dark humor, character drama, and even warmth. And of course, some gnarly gore. If you’re reading this and you haven’t watched it yet, give it a shot! I think if you liked The Walking Dead, a show that turned what’s usually straight-up horror into something with character and depth, then there’s a good chance you’ll get into this one too. For one thing, Linda Cardellini is fantastic as the newly multifaceted Pam Voorhees. And then join me, Jayme, and Nathan as we talk it out!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Check out Jason and Karen’s new Widow’s Bay podcast:On Wax Episodic, where friends and I cover our current favorite shows: https://podcastica.com/podcast/wax-episodicOr on Everything’s Fine: A Widow’s Bay Podcast, the standalone feed with just our Widow’s Bay coverage: https://podcastica.com/podcast/everythings-fineNext up: Crystal Lake S1E3&4 “Part III” & “A New Beginning”. Halloween is in the air, and we’re breaking from the rewatch for the new Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, premiering this Thursday, October 15, on Peacock. We’ve seen the first couple of episodes, and I think you’re gonna like it! It’s surprisingly fun, with some dark comedy, and the great Linda Cardellini putting in an incredible performance as Pamela Voorhees. Even if you don’t usually like slasher flicks, I recommend giving this one a shot. Like with The Walking Dead, this series is about the characters.Cohosting with me will be two of the biggest horror fans I know, Nathan and Jayme, and in this ep we get you ready by going back to the beginning, with some talk about Friday the 13th Parts 1 & 2. I had not seen these since the early ‘80s, when I was 11 years old, and I was a little freaked out to revisit them. But it ended up being a pleasure to be transported to another time. These are classic slasher flicks though, so be warned!Check out Jason and Karen’s new Widow’s Bay podcast:On Wax Episodic, where friends and I cover our current favorite shows: https://podcastica.com/podcast/wax-episodicOr on Everything’s Fine: A Widow’s Bay Podcast, the standalone feed with just our Widow’s Bay coverage: https://podcastica.com/podcast/everythings-fineNext up: Crystal Lake S1E1&2 “Camp Crystal” & “Part 2”. Could Negan be more of a total piece of s#!t that he is in this episode. Good thing it was an extra long one, in case we didn’t have our fill. I (Jason) actually did think it was a good episode. The Resident Evil film series has a spotty reputation at best. Forget about all that, because this latest iteration has Ron Anderson (aka Austin Abrams) in it! And also, it’s directed by visionary new horror director Zach Cregger (Barbarian, Weapons), who’s never even seen any of the other RE movies, but loves the games, and it really shows. Whether you’re a Resident Evil fan or just like a thrilling, fun, and surprisingly funny action horror movie, special guest Rima and I highly recommend checking this one out, and then come back and listen to us geek out about it.Next up: TWD S7E3 “The Cell”, with Jason, Lucy, and special guest Randy.
