Robots. Think on that for a minute, won’t you? See, we too can write Black Mirror episodes. Also, what about cameras? What if there was one inside your bidet water supply? And it possessed the memories of Winston Churchill? Scary, right? On that note, we have Soulm8te[2026]. It’s supposed to take place in the same universe as M3gan. If there’s anything you can find in is and you’re a fan of M3gan, please write us an email. We have our guy, David, who is sad because his wife died. He’s also an engineer for a small startup that gets bought. They give him a AI agent and a robot for … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 274: Oak Soul"
This week on Anime Pulse we got horny priests, a late Andrew, and the best and worst of horror. Up first IRL news has Andrew leaving Joseph waiting around for an hour, and Joseph is super boring so he uses pass. No industry news either, but they do talk about some anime that were the best and the worst of what horror has to offer. And thus we reach yet another previews round as Joseph summons a short dark stack with a bloody nose so they can explore magical things in the bedroom, and a Certain Andrew is abandoned by his fiancé after he lost all his saving in the stock market.
Did you know there’s a new Resident Evil movie out? And it’s directed by Zach Cregger who did the movie Weapons! So you know what that means. We’re doing two manga so that’s entirely unrelated. Unless maybe you count the fact we’re doing revisits which is kind of like rising from the grave. Yeah, so it’s like zombie manga. That’s the connection. We can make it all come around on a long enough timeline. Tim has Durarara. This time it’s the first two volumes. We have a large cast of colorful characters that’s very rushed in the first volume. The long and short of it is a there’s a Dullahan … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 569: Again?"
This week on Anime Pulse we got new beds, the best worst isekai crossovers, and the horny horny goblins. Up first IRL news sees Andrew refused to wear the M. Bison outfit to the new Street Fighter movie, and Joseph is slipping and sliding all across his new bed. Then in the industry news , there is none! Lastly more previews close things out as Joseph awakens to find himself as a horny short blue monster in a powerful spaceship with a useless goddess, and Andrew makes a love potion for a cold blooded killer so they can play woman's basketball together.
Have you ever had to do your homework on the school bus on Monday morning? That’s what we had to do for a movie. I no small part because we’re bery professional. So we grabbed a nineties movie off the virtual shelf because Kevin Bacon is in it. It’s supposed to star Meryl Streep but we’re there for the Bacon. So we have The River Wild(1994). Meryl Streep is a teacher who’s architect husband is always busy. She yells at him and takes the kids to go river rafting. Husband finagles it so he can come along, which she resents because Kevin is flirting with her. It gets a little … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 273: Palm River"
This week on Anime Pulse we got dimly lit games, anime cults, and our first round of previews for the Fall season. Up first IRL news has Andrew going over his IRyS concert, and Joseph finished his time as a French priest. Then in the industry news Sinder the vtuber gets a very late apology from the one who started all the drama last year. Finally we end off with the previews where in Joseph gets laid-off from his magic loan company for losing all his levels, and Andrew makes a bet with his secret merciless saint names Nia.
It’s officially Fall. It’s still pretty warm around us, hitting the high eighties and low nineties. But we’re seeing the leaves change and hoodies come out of storage. Which can only mean we need to be on the look out for the pumpkin spiced liquor of some kind. As is our tradition. Worst case we get pumpkin spice vodka and have fall shots. In the meanwhile, we have a pair of manga. First up is Tim with a mouthful of a title. It’s Not My Fault That I’m Not Popular! This is apparently a revisit from way back when. As a reminder we have our girl Kuroki, who we start … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 567: Popular Balls"
This week on Anime Pulse we got Re:Zero personality tests, antagonists who were right all along, and Digimon dragons. Up first IRL news with Andrew battling mosquitos, and Joseph messing up his foot while waiting for Friday dinner. Then in the industry news a Japanese VA wins a Tokyo court case against AI cloning. And lastly we have one last round of reviews before we dig into the new season, as Joseph awakens to find he is quite possibly the lamest dragon ever and Andrew worries about becoming too attached to his high school friends.
