A new player can sit down completely overwhelmed by 152 tiles, a card full of seemingly impossible combinations and something called the Charleston—and then suddenly, it clicks. But what I love even more is what happens after the lesson: students exchange numbers, start group chats, create weekly games and form real friendships. We may teach Mahjong, but what we’re really building is community and connection around the table."
